11 am -12 pm Interactive Follow-up
The CTEI with the U of Mich, Hub, and Digital Education is inviting you to attend our first keynote of Digital Education Day (DE Day). This year DE Day is completely virtual and will actually span 3 days. Our first keynote is none other than UM-Dearborn philosophy alum and Wayne State University School of Medicine graduate Mays Imad, a nationally recognized expert on trauma-informed teaching and learning. Dr. Imad’s presentation will explore the neuroscience of toxic stress and how understanding its effects can empower us to support ourselves and our students as we cope, engage, connect, and learn.
Together we will examine the principles and practical examples of equity-centered trauma-informed approaches and reflect on the connections between trauma-informed education, healing, and restorative justice. Participants will walk away with concrete strategies they can use in their own courses and contexts to help their students’ learning and success.
